“All energy in the universe is an expression
of how it feels to be eternal awareness”
The primary theme of Ross's paintings and books is the relationship between Awareness and Energy. "All energy in the universe, including human beings, animals, plants, minerals, galaxies, and even all forces such as gravity, electricity, and light itself are all expressions of how it feels to be Eternal Awareness," he says.
Born in Buffalo, he credits his father who was active in the Buffalo arts community, for his artistic development.
"My father was an artist and an inventor who was well-known in Buffalo.
He was my first and greatest art teacher. Thanks to his generosity, I skipped crayons and coloring books and went straight into oils on stretched canvas as a boy. I learned to love beauty from him; and gained a love for people and writing from my mother."
Most of his adult life was spent in Berkeley, California, where he founded and directed the Energy Art Studio for 20 years.
"I made several permanent public art paintings and ceramic mural installations for Berkeley, Oakland, and the City of Palo Alto.
He and Surja, his partner of 38 years, relocated to Buffalo a couple years ago to be close to family. Surja is a clinical hypnotherapist and holistic counselor in private practice. She will be offering a presentation on Past Life Regression from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 22 in the Mission Room of Trinity Church.
